What's beautiful in your life?
Love is simple, and it can be seen in all aspects of the world we live in.
So when I have a day that gets to me and crawls underneath my skin.
I stop and look at the world around, and I realize that my life isn’t bad.
There is so many things that bring laughter, why waste my time with being mad.
I love great pajamas and curling up on the couch
I love watching movies from my childhood that star Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch
I love the way that cookies smell when they are baking in the spring
I love standing in the background listening to my toddlers sing.
I love all the memories behind all my dusty antiques
And I love the way that looking through a photo album bring back so many memories.
I love to see my parents hold hands and pull each other close.
I love to watch my one year old play Head-Shoulders-Knees and Toes.
I love the way that rain smells ten minutes before it rains
And I love the jingle jangle sound of a pocket full of loose change
I love the way that a baby’s breath smells
And I love reading out loud for my children, from a book of fairy tales
I love old houses, and the way that their boards squeak
I love Christmas morning when every little kid tries to get a little peak
I love getting flowers for no reason at all
And I love unexpected letters and unforeseen phone calls
I love camping in my grandfather’s hand me down tent, rather than a luxury RV
I love the way that my children hide behind me-like it’s the best way not to be seen
I love sitting on my front porch, listening to the wind
And I love the laughter from down the street coming from my neighbor’s kids
I love that my family pushed me to get my education
And I love that I can show up at my sister’s house without making a reservation
I love that I am loved, by so many people in my life
And I am glad that I was able to find someone who loved me enough to make me a mother and a wife.
I love that I still remember what has made me, me.
And I love the fact that I know who I am and who I want to be.
I love that no one in this world is perfect, because we all have little flaws.
But I love when someone realizes it’s the flaws that make us worth loving at all.
So even when I am angry, hurt or want to give up.
I never say I hate my life- because life has so much that deserves a little love.
It's a great life to love living in...

Thanks Ken- Yep...That second picture is me and my mom :) I remember believing that she was the greatest, most perfect, most beautiful woman in the world at that age. I guess not much has changed- I still think she is great-is as perfect as she wants to be and is one of the most beautiful people from the inside out that I have ever met :) Thanks for your compliment, I guess I have grown to look much like my mom.

This is so beautiful H.C., thank you so much, I really loved it and the pictures were the perfect complement to the words which really struck a chord with me - especially 'why waste my time with being mad' which is exactly what I have decided in my own life, life is too short.

Thanks for another comment... I think that you should- if it comes from within it is always a good idea... This poem was to pay tribute to the simple things that bring joy to life. happiness isnt always fireworks, sometimes it is just crickets in the middle of the night :)
