63The Calming Silence of a River
What can Be Should be-May not become Truth
Where we finally feel some peace
Show me a silent river
Where summer nights don’t end
When we breathe into one another
And we can forget everything that was said
I am sorry is not needed
Even though it may be spoken
The last effort to mend the mess
And take care of hearts that are broken
Show me pitch black darkness
Take me to another place
Soak me in a dream
And let my reality fade away
If it was possible
To start over again
The hurt would be less
And perhaps not so much regret
Touch the dream in bitter night air
Feel the wind take us over
Feel the wind take us from despair
It is so simple, and so very sweet
To take a trip to a dream and forget the brutal reality
Tell me it will be okay
And that tomorrow will be changed
That our tomorrow will not be the same as it was yesterday
Make me believe even if you lie
That you understand what I said
And the last moment will be the last time
Say you are sorry I have hurt
Say you wish you could take it back
Tell me your plan to keep us from fading back into the black
Show me a silent river
Where we can finally feel some peace
Show me a silent river
Where there is a meaning to you and me.

The stunning photo caught my eye and the beautiful, heartfelt words tugged on my heartstrings.
There is also wisdom in this poem because you've shown the way to make amends by this verse:
"Say you are sorry I have hurt
Say you wish you could take it back
Tell me your plan to keep us from fading back into the black."
Sometimes a heartfelt apology, acknowledging the hurt we've caused our loved one and letting them know the efforts we're going to make from this day forward are enough to let a relationship not only survive, but start to thrive again.

As for the photos... you are right on- I try to find photo's which I have taken to go along wit each poem I write. There are a few poems I have not hit the publish button on, because I have yet to take the perfect picture to match the meaning of the poem... Eventually all will come to life. every time someone calls me a poet, I smile... I still have a tendency to think I am not yet worthy of such a title, but I still love to hear that people do like my work and that anyone even takes time to read it. Hopefully before December I will have my poetry book published and available... at that point I hope I sell a few copies (we will see)...

Thanks for the insight, I am glad you could draw the meaning behind the verses. Love is very complicated, and sometimes for the other person to try and fix things and say I am sorry, is the only thing we really need to continue to work on the relationship...but people are stupid and stubborn and often love is lost because of it.
I do like that magic blend of pics and poetry that you do so well. Thank you.

I haven't caressed your scribes for quite some time, I wondered where you've been, I missed you at mine. This is a moving and very stirring piece. It smacks of meaning, I know the feeling, I was there once.

saddlerider1 - we both know that the only way to write and write well is to write truthfully as it is experienced and felt... I have noticed how you blend photos with poetry and create awesome word-picture. It is always wonderful to read your poems though I have commented in few, sometimes I really have no words to express.
