There are people that think they know all there is to know about sex? But what they are truly saying is that they know all they think they need to know about pleasuring another person between the sheets. I have always believed the key to making the grade in any subject that you study in order to master it is; to learn the reasoning behind the logic that we accept as truth.
One of the many mysteries about sex and intimacy is the female orgasm. Logically speaking to understand the female orgasm, we must understand the truth behind being a female. Since understanding females and the many differences between men and women probably will not be happening anytime soon, perhaps learning a little more about her ‘pleasure areas’ and perhaps how to get her in the mood, will make you feel a little less lost when you are in bed with her. Maybe learning some new information having to do with women, a woman's orgasm and a woman’s body- you can then consider yourself one step closer to knowing the truth behind females and what woman truly want and need. If nothing else, maybe reading a few interesting facts about the female orgasm, can calm some fears you may be harboring. Regardless of why you are reading this and what you will take with you when you are finished- I hope you enjoy a few interesting pieces of information regarding women and the female orgasm.
It is nothing new to be told that men and woman are very different, but just how different are we when it comes to the effects that sex has on our minds and bodies? According to CAT scans that were done on women while having an orgasm- sex has the ability to make a woman lose her train of thought. When a woman has an orgasm a large portion of her brain shuts off, but when a man has an orgasm, brain scans do not show the same effect. It is thought that the reason for the difference is because a woman’s orgasm has the ability to last, while a man's orgasm is shorter lived, making it less apparent on a brain scan. So when she is having the ‘Big O’, rest assured she is not thinking about tomorrows business meeting. Odds are she is not thinking about anything, and is just enjoying the release.
Some women are very orgasmic as others find it difficult if not impossible to have an orgasm at all. Studies show that the reason for this may be an inherited genetic trait that is passed down from generation to generation. The study shows that if you find orgasms difficult to reach, your daughters may also have the same difficulty. Another study that was done in 1999, suggest that about 43% of women in the United States have problems with their sex life. With almost half of women in the United States having such issues, perhaps the problem lies within our society? Regardless of where the problem is- there is a women’s form of Viagra in the works to help out the issue.

According to researcher Elisabeth Lloyd, the female orgasms are an evolutionary accident. Women really don’t need to have orgasms for reproduction the way that men do. So, the female orgasm is compared to the male nipple, in that they exist for no other reason except, there is really no reason to do away with them. Not to contradict the previous fact, I must also share with you that when a female orgasms within 45 minutes of having sperm released into her body, she has a better chance of retaining more sperm, than if she did not have an orgasm at all. So with that being said-I guess a ladies orgasm does serve a purpose when it comes to chance and family planning?
For decades women use the excuse of having a headache to avoid having sex. Unfortunately this excuse is not one that has much logic unless you are a female that does not orgasm. Truth is that 20% of female migraine suffers, experience immediate relief of their migraine symptoms once orgasm is reached. Ladies,we must get back to the drawing board and come up with another fool proof reason for getting out of making love when we want to make our way to dreamland.
Last but not least, I must address a question asked to me in another hub I wrote called Achieving a G Spot Orgasm (which in now unpublished due to the Hub Page Content Guidelines). Does it matter how much she ‘comes’ when she ‘comes’? The answer is No, the amount of fluid released from her genitals is not what you base the amount of pleasure she is feeling on.
Truth is told- only 10% of women actually have the ability to experience the female ejaculation. The female ejaculation is the rush/gush or squirting of fluid from her (you know what). The fluid is similar to that produced by the prostate gland that men are equipped with, which makes up the liquid portion of semen. If you are with a woman that can not achieve this, it does not mean that you are not turning her on or up-it means that she is as unique as the lady before.

i always thought that men knew very little on this subject,besides this is a very complicated issue,because there is no blue print or fixed path that takes a lady to orgasm,varies very vastly from person to person depending upon the points of sensation. thats possible with long term relations ..on the whole you have done a wonderful job,a lot to learn.

Very interesting stuff. I'm naturally mesmerized by such things. ;) It's funny you mention the headache excuse and also point out that a female orgasm potentially lasts longer than a man's does. I tend to think it's also quite a bit more intense for a woman than it is for a man based on my wife's reactions. But I've said to her more than once, it seems to me a woman has way more "spots" than we have as well. With all that exta fun going on you'd think she'd want it more often than we do? lol

LOL, I guess if women were more like men in the emotional sense, we probably would want it more with the extra nerve endings and spots we have available. But because we let more emotions and mental state guide us, we are easier to discourage when it comes to sex and it is a bit harder to get some of us in the mood (which is why there is foreplay-but that is an entirely different hub, Ive already started). If women are tired, stressed, feeling a little off or irritated-it can sometimes be enough to turn us off and leave the guy hanging. I know it stinks for the guys, but that is why you guys gotta be nice :), but like I said that hub is being worked on :)

The thing is that we like doing things for women, it's in a man's nature, it defines men. Not only for money, but in the case of the female orgasm, to make her happy, to do something nice for her. So women have that kind of power over men. You can make us running for you.
On the other hand, women and men are different sides of the same coin. One is searching for the other, even though they can rarely find their perfect match.
The same applies on sexual orgasm. It requires mutual effort (otherwise it's pure self-satisfaction, in my opinion). Maybe because we are genetically programmed, so that the result of the sexual intercourse among humans should be the birth of a child. So both participants should have a kind of motivation (pleasure) to get involved into the creation of a new being, the upbringing of which can give them both happiness and sorrow.

If we're not emotionally connected, then all the friction does is produce...well...a lot of friction.

Nicely written Hub. So often we don't take into account the physiology of the body or appreciate the complexity of how the emotional and physical are tied together.
