The World Would Be More Beautiful if Everyone Donated a Kind Smile Today
It is always nice to see that people still care about others and want to help when help is needed. It takes so little effort to pause and offer a helping hand, a smile, a warm cup of coffee and a listening ear when something horrible has happened or life has caught up with someone. That little effort and smile can mean the world to the person on the receiving end of your smile and offer.
Ever since I was a little girl, my grandmother referred to me as being a little different that my siblings. I had always thought of that statement as an insult rather than a compliment, which is now what I considered it to be. Only recently did she explain that comment to me. She stated, ‘You have always been so emotional and so in-tune to what others are experiencing and suffering through. You have always had the ability to pause and think, how would I feel if that was me?” She went on to explain, “When you were 7 you wanted to give all your toys to the kids that didn’t have a Mother to buy them things. When you were 9, you gave your life savings to the Kids with Cancer fund ($42.67). When you were 12, you begged your mom to let you volunteer with Elf Louise, so you could wrap presents. You always wanted to get an Angel off the Tree to buy for a child who had less than you. When you were 13, a friend of yours house burned down and you gathered half your wardrobe and a single teddy bear-threw it in a garbage bag, and walked 2 miles to deliver it to her (I got grounded for giving my stuff away). There has never been a year you haven’t written a thank you card for a gift received. Not one of your brothers or sisters is of that nature, being an emotional human being has made you a kind soul with a good heart.” My grandmothers words mean more to me than any compliment that I have ever received, because being beautiful on the inside matters far more than being beautiful on the outside.
If you look around the Hub Page Community, there are Huber’s with beautiful souls and magical hearts. They want the world to be better and people to appreciate the things that they have. Take a few minutes and see what these Huber’s Hearts want to say-and maybe you will find a heart that needs your assistance and smile.
The Power From Within Our Hearts is Unbreakable
A Million Drawings for Cancer- This is a cause that I am very proud to represent and promote for one of our Huber’s Ben. I think you should give his Hub a read, rather than have me explain to you what he is doing to raise money for Cancer. A truly dedicated kind heart and a lovely attempt to make a difference.
Raise Funds For My Charity is a Hub by Paul41982 who gives us a great start on where to start when we want to give a little heart to a cause.
Teaching Kids to Give is a Hub written by PhilD41, which will allow you to connect to your child and teach them how to be a caring person. It informs the reader to get involved and lead by example. Great Advice Here!
Know your Charity Before You Give is a great Hub that tells you that some charities are not for the cause they are for themselves. This one was written by Vic602
For Cause Not for Profit was written by me in referance to what charities I stand for and how I help by giving support, sometimes money and many times my time and expertise.
Thank you for reading this Hub. It does not matter what cause you support, it matters that you support a cause that benefits others. This world is full of negativity, it is up to the ones that can see a greater tomorrow to make a difference that matters. Just ask yourself, 'If it was me, wouldn't I hope that someone would extend their hand to help me up'?

Thank for sharing this information with those of us who were not aware of them. In this topsy turvy world, it is truly refreshing to find that there are still people who genuinely care about others.
I'm a great believer in the power of postivity and was very lucky to have had a special relationship with my grandmother too.
Thank you for writing this Hub. You have done a fine service to the Hub Community here.
My grandmother was a hateful, well, you know, until her last few months. The hub I wrote about her was one of the hardest I've ever written. I truly envy you.
I never knew my grandmother until I was 51. She was my only grandparent (all others passed before I was born) and she didn't want anything to do with grandchildren. My boys finally changed her somewhat before her death last year.
I like to think so. You can read about her on one of my hubs but I forget what I called it. Just take my word for it. She could be pretty nasty.
Pretty cool hub H.C.Porter. Glad I came across it. I always like seeing caring people. It's always a pleasure. Thank you for sharing. :)
