A camera is my paintbrush and the darkroom allows me to paint my canvas
A picture can say a thousand words. It can bring back memories that have been forgotten, feeling that you thought were lost and moment that you want to relive.
It is how you see the world
I was told, if you know how to handle a camera, you can make the world look beautiful in every picture you take, you can show people a new perspective and/or tell a story, without writing a word or saying a thing.
A passion for life, and the ability to see the world not for what it is, but what it could be
I have been a Professional Photographer since 1998 (Don't ask me how old I am, I will never tell you). My grandfather was the first person to introduce a camera to me when I was 8 years old. He use to tell me stories of when he was a little boy, he attempted to follow in his fathers footsteps as a painter, but admits that he was never any good with a paintbrush, but when he was a young man he was shown how to handle a camera. He told me the camera became his paint brush and the darkroom gave him the ability to paint his canvas. My grandfather passed away in 2001, which was the first of many deaths I would grieve through. His teachings, his passion for life, and the ability to see the world not for what it is, but what it could be; is what pushes me and gives me strength when I think I have nothing to offer the world.
It is more than the subject, it is how the subject is captured in light and shadows that makes a picture appealing
Photography is an art and each artist has a different style and perspective, just like painting, drawing and writing.
One of our Huber’s; Misha, actually gave me this idea (without knowing it), and although 90% of the time, I use my photographs in the Hubs that I write, I wanted to show the beauty of the world as I see and experience it; without using words or explaining each picture.
Just as many forms of art, photography is not just how the photographer wished to capture an image, it is how others view it and can relate to it that makes each photograph special and appealing.
A photographer uses light and shadows as well as angles and distance to capture an image that is simple for the eye to understand-without being boring and ordinary.
It is more than just a job to pay the bills, it's a piece of who I am as a person
The world is full of such beauty and every person has special gifts within them.
I know when I have done my job well, when I present a set of photos and I get a thank you and a tear, when I see the face of a mother when the innocence of her child has been captured in one of my photographs or when a response to a photograph gets a smile and more than a glance.
I hope you enjoyed this Hub and the images I displayed.

Hey H.C.Porter, I enjoyed this hub. I found it to be very cool. But, was wondering if the girl with the tats at the end is you? Not trying to be a sexist, even though I am bias toward women, but would be really interested to know. LOL ;) :)
I know I haven't really been too associative lately, because I have so many different projects running. :) But, it is nice to see and talk with you. :) Keep up the great work. :D
These photos are great. Thank you for sharing your awesome talent with us H.C. Porter. I think it's amazing how you can take a picture of such an ordinary object, and make it extraodinary.
Thanks for your kind words on my hub, I tried to encapsulate all the numbers as best I could, but you know what its like when your up late and tired, I have work in an hour now lol..I was resourcing the internet and I have a book here, but alot of the personality traits I have learnt over 8 years of studying Numerology, so some is from memory.
I liked the way you captured the babies eyes in the photographs above, did you edit those in photoshop or something to accentuate the blueness?

I don't know anything about photography, but, I know when I like something. I like all of these photographs but the one with the light bulb is my favorite for some reason. It seems like there is a story it hints at. Good Hub.
