SEO on our hubs and websites
Most of us know that having SEO on our websites is a benefit that will help us gain ranking on the search engines. Many think that SEO is simply integrating keywords into our content and back linking. Although keywords in the content and back-linking are two very necessary factors in having successful SEO on your website, it is far from true to believe that this is all that you need. When you have found your keywords and what you want to be found for, put them everywhere on your hub. Confused? Don’t be! I will explain the meaning of working in keyword in the most beneficial of ways in three beginner steps that have an impact on how and if you are found on searches.
To further implement SEO in your Hub Pages, here are 3 easy steps to improve your Hubs SEO:
Step 1- Title that has an SEO benefit
If we are just considering your hubs here on Hub pages, I would have to say that applying proper SEO also includes considering proper Titles. I recall when I first began here on Hub pages, as I read through the introduction tutorials which suggested that having a title that was straight forward and gave explanation of the hub was more successful than having a creative, unorthodox title. This is true. For example; poets. I can tell you which poets here are using effective SEO and which are not, by simply looking at the titles of their poems. How can I do this? I can do this because I know that when an individual searches on a Search Engine for poetry they search for the following terms; Poetry, Online Poetry, Poetry Contests, Online Poetry Contests, Prose Poetry, Lyrical Poetry and Poems. With this in mind, the poets here on hub pages that include one of these words/phrases into their title, just increased that they will be picked up on a search engine. This is why when you look at much of the poetry on hub pages you will see titles such as; Prose Poetry- A Poem About Life and Love, or an even better title would be; Prose Poetry- A Poem of Prose about Life and Love. Google will read this title and pick up the terms for consideration in search results.

Step 2- A Summary with Keywords for Search Engines
I read quite often Huber’s say they do not know what to type into the summary section of their hubs. To assist you, consider this; if Google is using this summary to display as an intro to the content on your hub, apply your SEO knowledge to this section. Make your summary keyword rich, and applicable to the hubs content. If you have written a hub about Superman and his history with Lex Luther, first do your keyword research and find out which search terms are most prominent regarding this subject. In this case the terms superman (6 million plus) and super man(5 million) both have high searches and low competition. Although the terms are very similar with only a space to differentiate the two, each have their own traffic count and both should be included in your summary as well as within your hub. The same concept goes for the terms superhero and super hero. As a writer, I know I sometimes have to force myself to purposefully put both versions within my content and description/summary-but do, because of the benefits. Why gain traffic for only one of these terms when your hub should be gaining traffic for both? It makes no sense not to be read because one person searches for something using a space and someone else does not. Include both and be found more often.
Step 3- Naming your pictures for SEO
Google does not see your photographs unless your photographs are named with an applicable search term. When you are planning to integrate photos, diagrams, info-graphics or any other type of visual support to your hub, make sure that you upload the photograph to your hub, after you have named it. If you are including a photo of a rose bush; why not name it rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns. Confused why I would upload a photo that has such a long name? Let me explain by pulling apart this name as a search engine search will view it. These are my search terms within the title;
rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns, rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns, rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns, rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns, rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns, rose bush rose garden of roses with thorns.
Each of these terms are what Google will search for when a search inquiry (key search word based) is made, to give full effort to your prominence on Search Engines, why not use these terms to be found by included them all in the title of the photograph? Doing so will certainly have you picked up by Google and other Search Engines. Also, if you write a caption, this is another place to plug in search terms, every bit helps and could mean the difference of being read.
SEO is not hard, it just takes time to learn-Keep it up and you will see your relevance on Search Engines increase
Do not approach SEO and gaining traffic to your online content as a headache and an effort that will not pay off. SEO takes time, and consistency. Hang in there and you will the results and applying SEO will become second nature when you are deciding how to put the pieces together of each of your hubs. Good luck and Happy Hubbing- hope your views, likes and shares are all that you want them to be.

I had read somewbere else on HP about captioning keyword on the photo capsule, and have been trying to do that. Thanks so much for this good info.
Hi thearbiter0808,
You are the second person to mention this. Have you checked their T&Cs and list of banned countries? (Google Adsense banned many countries a while back, including India ... unfortunately anyone from those regions lost their accounts, we lost some great members unfortunately).
My SEO Guru does it again! well done! This is starting to make more and more sense...I have a much greater understanding of SEO every time I read your hubs - yay! Your 'rose' example is perfect and emphasizes why we need to take advantage of the photo capsule.

It's like I said . . . SEO is sling words at the search engine. Almost everyone in the world is doing it. The poor search engine is getting constipated. Keep that in mind.
Really wonderful SEO tips, HCP. And may I say very clever too? Love the way you used the word superman both in single and split form. We all are here to get on the search engine wagon. You make it all so simple to understand. Thanks for such a useful hub.

Excellent ideas. I think you can have the best of both worlds with the titles by being creating in the main title and adding the SEO title as a subtitle (or vice versa). In fact, I wrote a hub about it. Voting this Up and Useful.

This was extremely helpful, thank you. You reminded me of my recent hub about the Superbowl or Super Bowl :) And I never thought of "naming" the photos I use. I do include a caption that includes key words when I can, but never thought of your other idea. I look forward to reading more of your hubs!

Very useful hub. I haven’t been paying much attention to keywords for my photos, so I will go through my hubs now and change that. And your last paragraph is just what I needed, since I’m all too inclined to see SEO as exactly that! Time to change my attitude. I’m bookmarking this, and voting up.
