Why you need Social Media Marketing (SMM)
I can go on and on about Social Media Marketing (SMM), and all the reasons you should apply it to your business marketing. I can tell you that if you know how to effectively manage your marketing online, you will increase your brand awareness and ROI. I can tell you that Social Media Marketing is the wave of the NOW, and your brand will suffer if you do not apply it to your Marketing Protocols. I can tell you a lot of things, and you will then move on with your life and your business brand, unchanged-because what I say means nothing, unless I can show you the truth behind these benefits, and how to effectively apply and manage Social Media Marketing to your business. This is exactly what I want to do, provide you the proof that SMM works and it is not just the newest fad, but an innovative movement for online advertising and brand expose.
When I say, Social Media; most will probably think about Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flicker, and then a picture of a teenager chatting aimlessly with friends and posting the complaints regarding their lives for the public to see. For a teen, or preteen, this may be true, but for businesses and entrepreneurs, Social Media is the cost effective way to gain new customers, keep customers and stay in touch with the community.
Social Media is how many gain feedback on changes they have applied to business, as well as share the relatable part of who they are as a business. The relatable part of business is the human side of the numbers, and statistics regarding businesses and brands. How do I know, and how will I prove that the benefits do exist within Social Media? Simply put, I am going to show you the facts-the numbers- the overwhelming proof that Social Media Marketing is amongst the top ways to market your service; going beyond the effectiveness of Print Ads, Mail outs, or simply putting up a website and crossing your fingers that someone will find you at some point in time.
Did you know that 71% of businesses now have a business page on Facebook? To gain optimal exposure to your online content you need to learn how to make Social Media work alongside your SEO campaign, and connect you to the public and more importantly, connect you to your future clients and customers. How do you do this? It isn’t hard, but it does take time to do this the correct way to truly connect you with others. First of all, create a business page that people can follow and like, and then keep up with posts and create conversations that draw others in, not put them to sleep. As a business, no one will care when you take a potty break or eat a Danish- but they may care about up and coming events and changes to your service. So you have your Facebook and you have your Twitter, what do you do with it after your profile is completed? Share!

When you are on Facebook, like your post and respond to the comments that responded to the post (and like those comments too).

Read others posts and interact with others. Who wants to read what you write, over and over again if you do not give them the time of day and read and comment on what they are posting and commenting on? Not many people will still hang out if you don't respond when they leave some insight to your work. You will see a dramatic increase in views and significance if you are social with others.

I see you have now escalated to the level of marketing like myself.. I also see the importance of social media as well as SEO. I had to set up Facebook pages, Youtube channels etc.. You should consider learning Adwords, I have one Google certification exam left to take to be a Google Adwords partner now..many hosting providers give you free coupons to test campaigns :)

I think the term "social" media hurts Google advertising and the professionals in the field. For business, it is a business expense called advertising.
I am curious how you made the transition into SEO work and what you think of the Adwords Certification program.
I just asked in the forum why there wasn't a special section just for business marketing and advertising.
Google offers so much more than the other advertising medium - just the ROI and the targeted market is justification alone yet the term "marketing" and "social media" I believe scares off the business owners.
