The Beauty of San Antonio Texas
68Over Looking the lights of San Antonio
Everything that you didn't think you would see.
More than Just Cowboys
Sometimes when you live somewhere, you forget how beautiful your surroundings really are. People are always telling me how wonderful the sites in San Antonio and surrounding areas are. The ones who say such things are absolutely correct, the sites in and around San Antonio Texas are indeed a sight for sore eyes.
If you haven’t been to San Antonio, you are missing more than Cowboys, Warm Weather, Mexican Food and Southern Hospitality. You are missing the beauty of a night on the town or drive through the country.
The Full Experience
The One & Only
The Tower of the Americas
For more than 35 years the Tower of the Americas has stood tall in the heart of down town San Antonio Texas. You can go to enjoy fine dining in the revolving restaurant (yes revolving), or skip dinner and go to enjoy the beautiful overview of the city from the observation deck 750 ft above the ground. There is little you won't see from this view, overlooking the cities skyline..
The appeal to this attraction is not just the tower alone, it is in part what's around the tower that makes the experience magical and memorable. With the garden paths and waterfalls, it is a romantic spot for even the most stubborn spectators to enjoy. You can easily spend an afternoon here, and leave wishing you had more time.

The Simple Things That Make You Laugh
Magic of the Texas Hill Country
If you are not a person who likes the city, but prefer the freedom of a country road, this is the area for you. Drive about 15 minutes outside of Loop 1604, and you are in the Texas Hill Country. Nothing beats the views that are seen relaxing on an old porch bench; breathing fresh air, listening to crickets, and watching the deer.
Living in the Hill Country, you also have one more excuse to give your boss when you are late for work,
"I am late because there were cows in the road, and traffic was backed up from cattle guard to cattle guard." (It has actually happened to me, so don't laugh). What unexpected excitement cows can create, you can't buy an excuse like that -you actually have to live it, day in and day out.

Nothing Left to Want, When You Have All This Wonder and Beauty
If you are the type that prefers to live by the water, you too will enjoy the San Antonio area. Choose from Medina Lake or Canyon Lake. The view is breathtaking no matter where you decide to settle down and plant your roots.
San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country is part of what is considered to be 'The Best in Texas', The people in these parts, wave when you drive by, call you when your dog gets out of the yard, watch your home when you are out of town, and stay here for as long as they possibly can.
Once you are here, you will understand, why Texas is the place that so many people want to be.

Just gorgeous pretty lady, thanks for the tour of the San Antonio area, the photos are really something. I think if I could, I would have a good night's camp beside that beautiful river. I agree with you, most places, when you live there for awhile, you forget how pretty they are. Well written H.C., as usual.

Who knew that San Antonio, Texas had so much to offer? You've got the lure and excitement of the city, as well as the laidback leisure of the country. It's like having the best of both worlds. I must visit sometime. Great Photos!
