Life is only temporary
I don’t believe in happiness if you don’t know who you are
I don’t think it’s a happy ending if it can’t be shared with someone to hold
I don’t think that it’s really parenting unless you see your children for them selves
And I don’t think that anyone who gets ahead, should get ahead unless they help someone else.
The world is often lonely when you have no one to care
The first step in being beautiful has nothing to do with finding something to wear
You are only as good as the last thing you did
So if you wish to be great, be great with how you decide to live
Do not pass judgment you don’t know what its like
To walk in another’s shoes for a day or a night
If you want to steer someone on a different path in life
Live your life by example and stop picking stupid fights
When you borrow something
Give it back better than it came
And when you aim to help someone-make sure you are not the only person who gains
Never go to bed angry or bring up yesterdays fight
And when your kid wakes up screaming, come to his rescue at any hour of the night
Be who you are, not who someone wants you to be
If you stay true to yourself, everyone else will see
When a friend needs to cry, be there as they hang their head
And when they need you to fight for them-fight till the end
Never give up when you know what is right
And when someone wants more than you are willing to give, bid them a goodnight
If you are always singing your own praises
No one will ever sing for you.
There will be many times in this life when you won’t know what to do.
Forgive when someone says I am sorry
But don’t forget what they are sorry for
And when you are the one who messes up
Own up before you are shown the door
Know that you aren’t better than anyone else
And that you can’t base your worth on material wealth
Make the life of many-more beautiful for today
Give a little extra, and don’t do it for the pay
If we spend our lives focused on nothing but money
We can assure that names and our memories will soon be forgotten
If we live our life the right way our memory will live on.
Because it’s our children and our loved ones who will say our names when we are gone.
Life is only temporary, But as temporary as it may be.
It’s how you choose to live that shows others who have forgotten how to believe.

H.C. these are all great lessons in life and many people have not learned them nor care or know how. A word of kindness, a good deed and hug someone you love every day.
Show people you care, it's been hard for me most of my life as I grew up as an abused child, it hardened me and it took me very long to appreciate people and let go of anger.

It took me awhile to let go of alot of the anger that I had stored deep within my soul, before I began to live my life and only then did I find happiness. I am glad you were able to arrive to the same place after your struggles.

I absolutely loved this H.C. There were so much good advice here. Much of it I have tried to apply in my own life. Good advice is better than all the wealth in the world...taking such good advice in account and really applying it in our lives can make all the difference in the world.

Veronica, I like that "Good Advice is better than all the wealth in the world." Oh so true that is. I think that so many people screw so much up in their lives because they complicate situations with the decisions that they make. If we simplified and just followed our hearts---perhaps we would find ourselves on a better path. Yet money, pride and nonsense always seem to get in the way and cloud our judgment.
Mike, Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunatly I dont think that my family truly sees me, at least not for who I am and what I want for the ones I care about. I have never been the one to stand up in a crowd and speak up for what I believe to be true-when I do, I have often been taken back down to my place and ignored. Perhaps that is why my writing helps me so much, specially when people are able to see me through it. I write with my heart, and I write what I truly believe, feel and think because in the world-Im often not seen.

The best advice I have ever been given is from the heart, mind and soul of a perfect and happy child untouched by the ideas of the world around them as to what they should think, say, do, be, just flat out the free spirit of a child. It's the best and most treasured gift any of us can experience. Great read!

thanks so much for reading and leaving a comment. I wrote that line because I see so many people focus on money and things that money can buy-rather than kinships and love. In the end---they may have a great deal of stuff to show for their life-but no one will say their name when they are gone, because they never took the time to focus on people who care for them.
