Briefs-
The way most think of briefs, is the ever so fashionable Granny Panties variety of Woman’s Underwear. Granny’s Panties are ‘High High Wasted-Rear Covering Panties that go up and over your abdomen as well as the belly button. These are not recommended if you are looking to get lucky tonight (you don't want to scare the poor boy). Within the term, you also have options of panties with; Tummy Control-Butt Lifting-Butt Minimizing or Seamless.
There is also a not as high, high wasted style of Briefs. They too are full coverage but do not surpass the naval. Still not exactly what is thought of as being 'Sexy' but is a sensible Tummy Hiding not completely embarrassing choice within the brief category.
Briefs also include the more popular Bikini Briefs. Bikini Briefs are lower cut (often low rise-to be paired with the low rise jeans). They cover your bottom, lay on the bikini line-but are higher cut around the thigh. Again with in the term Bikini Briefs, you have the options of Low Rise and Medium Rise, Cotton,Mesh, Lace, Lycra. Solids or Patterns-Bows or Decorative Gems. While choosingyour Bikini Briefs, ask yourself, “Does Sex Kitten, written with rhinestone on black mesh panties, fit my personality”? Or are you more of an athletic girl, and prefer that your panties match your jersey?

Thongs-
There are three main types of thongs. First is the T Back, which is a Thong which the letter ‘T’ is made in the back. Within the T Back category, you once again have variety of fabrics High-or Low waste and a variety of options in the form of embellishments used on your panties.
G-String are panties which are made up of a small sliver of fabric closely similar to a simple string. The preference of the G-String is that of each individual lady. Some are frightened of these sometimes uncomfortable panties-as others are drawn to their sex appeal and seamless panty line appearance.G-Strings can be found in cotton, but will usually come with more variety of lace. If you are in a sexy adventurous mood, perhaps you are looking for a 'G', consisting of beads?
The most popular choice within the Thong sub-categories is the Rio Panties. Rio thongs go up on the sides rather than straight across and are the most comfortable Thong variation available.

Boy Shorts and Hipsters-
A newer style of ladies panties, and growing in popularity among the young. They are styled after ‘Boys Underwear’ and do cover the bottom, but this is not a full bottom type of coverage. It is a half brief-not quiet a thong yet, medium. This Style of Panty is called Boy Shorts (clever I know).
Most Boy Shorts are more of a Casual or Sporty designed pantie. Very Basic- Very Cute- Very Comfortable.
Ladies Boxer are in Existence as well. A ladies boxer brief are a bit looser than the Boy Shorts (which are form fitting the way that panties should be). So if there are some ladies out there who love to be covered in a not so restricting way, check them out.
Hipsters are another variation of Boy Shorts and Ladies Boxer Briefs. They can have a Sex appeal when made of Lace, or you can also have a more reasonable Hipster which is more of a Sporty low rise tushy peaking brief.
Both Boy Shorts and Hipsters are essential for night attire.You can look sexy wearing either one of these styles with your lovers Tee-shirt covering just enough skin to give your guy something to hope for.
There Really is Something for Everyone
Now for the SAY WHAT? Category of Panties
Butt Pads-
If you were born with the ‘have no a**’ syndrome', then you will probably be interested in learning that Ladies Panties now have the option of either Foam or Silicone Tushy Pads. A** Pads can give you that Apple Bottom Tush you have always dreamed of having to be able to hold up those Apple Bottom Jeans, you never thought you would ever be in a position to own. Crotch-less Underwear is only good if you are attempting to seduce a gentleman of some sort. I would not recommend wearing these if you are going shopping at the mall or eating at a restaurant -you may catch something or leave something for others (YUCK!), so please do us all a favor and keep these at home out of public viewing. Granny panties and old panties often are "period panties". That means she has to have an open mind, some old towels and no cramps or I am not getting any.
personally, other than that, I prefer the kind of panties that cry out to be removed by ME!

It made me consider how a typical woman would react to one of two things, #1. a man stealing her panties #2. finding her lovers stash of random panties from former conquest which were conquered. I always wear a g-string - I find other styles uncomfortable. I have worn g-strings for a few years now and started wearing them to prevent vpl and was soon wearing them all the time. They're all low rise as I don't want the dreaded whale tail, particularly as I'm 33 - a teenager might get away with it. I like my comfy cotton g-strings for everyday but wear a tiny lacy pair when I want to dress up and go out.
As you say H.C., with the great assortment of panties available what really is the the deciding factor for women when selecting panties? For me, I prefer a high cut brief or hipster with a little lace or mesh, bows, and definitely colors or floral patterns. Usually the fabric is nylon, but I enjoy the comfy feel of cotton too. The most important thing for me is my panties have to fit just right, not skimmpy or loose. There is nothing more exciting than wearing a pair of pretty form fitting panties under my male clothing while at work and thinking I may be wearing the same panties as my female coworkers.

I hardly ever wear any knickers, and certainly not under trousers - there isn't an underwear style I feel truly comfortable in, so about ten years ago I started going without and preferred it. The only time I wear really knickers is if I am wearing a shorter skirt or dress, and then I wear either a G-string or sometimes shorts.
Right now I am wearing VERY tight panties.
They are tiny, but my B-friend loves it!
I am a boyshorts lover but truly what we wear over and under and intimately is so very expresive. I too love the panties:)

Hot post! There are a lot of things that we could do to look hot and sexy. Different styles and design available for our own comfort. This is really something that everyone should try.
its fun reading your post. love it! and i was reading it, i try to reflect on myself, and think which one do really suit and match me and my personality...and i can't really think which is which since i can wear all of them or be willing to try to wear them...but depends on the occasion. its good to have variety and feel sexy at times, but comfort is the most important thing for me when it comes to clothing specially undergarments.

Panties may just be the best pieces in a woman's wardrobe. Just wearing something pretty, saucy or cute & fun underneath can make you FEEL...pretty, saucy or cute & fun, even if nobody else sees them. I really enjoyed your article and insight. I loved reading this hub! I experience a slight moment of ADD when it comes to lingerie, more specifically panties and stockings. I tend to prefer the appearance of bikini's and boyshorts, just the way they tend to hug a womans curves (hipbones) in the right places that gets my attention!

Outwardly, I look very masculine and personally I think I look rediculous in panties or a teddy. But, almost every evening I lock myself in my room and put them on.
I've tried makeup. It doesnt interest me. But a satin slip with lace trim? I love it. I wear full leathers when I ride my motorcycle. Often with panties hidden underneath. It makes me more careful. I dont want to wind up in an emergency room with a bunch of nurses undressing me.

I love to wear a variety of styles, but only Victoria's Secret anties will do -preferably in satin. My boyfriend seemed surprised at the variety when we were first dating. One time it would be a thong, a bikini the next,a g-string, and several hipsters with cute wording on them. On about our 4th or 5th date it was his birthday. I took him out to a steak dinner-and discreetly slipped off my panties under my skirt under the table, then gave them to him discreetly as a "trophy" present. He took the hint and loved it!
Personally I love to get a guy to wear panties for me, but I wouldn't want him to wear mine. (He's a big guy!) I now buy him his own sometimes when I want him to wear them for me. A little kinky, I know, but it's our romantic secret.
